A Four Hour Work Week Is Too Long

A Four Hour Work Week Is Too Long

I Prefer a 30 Minute Workday

If you think time management is possible you are wrong. Nobody manages time, instead we manage tasks. If you think a 4 hour work week sounds great what if I suggested that a 30 minute workday would be more profitable? Would you believe me?

Over and over with the self-employed and/or entrepreneurs that I work with complain that they are working so hard but not making any progress with their business. Creating action and working hard is not the problem. The problem is where people spend their time. Since we mostly gauge the success of our time spent on business by the dollars we have in our bank account, it doesn't take a genius to figure out how successful we've been. I have a coaching challenge I make my clients use. This one tip will change the course of your business success.

Take this 30 minute challenge. Each weekday for the next 30 days spend 30 minutes sourcing new business and making new "live" contacts. Sending emails into cyberspace doesn't count, you have to pick up the phone. Call people that you were previously too shy to call and remember, they started somewhere too.

Go to this url & download a timer (http://www.businesslaunchexpert.com/specialtimer.zip) or buy a timer like you'd see on an old stove and set it to 30 minutes (not 4 hours). Now, during those 30 minutes do nothing but source new contacts and business. No pauses between calls are allowed, hammer away and focus. Call prospects, call possible joint venture partners and certainly past clients to see if they need any more of whatever it is you're selling.

Below are some examples of what you can specifically do.

If you're a painter call some plumbers and see if they've torn any walls out lately that need your services.

If you're a golf pro head up to the driving range and hand out cards after offering some free advice to those in need. After all why should they hire you if they don't know what you're capable of?

If you're a real estate investor spend this time calling bankruptcy attorneys and accountants. If you have to ask me why then you may be in the wrong business. As a former investor myself I know that I sourced more leads in a few hours from relationships with these professionals than all the time I spent driving around looking for estate sales and moving trucks let alone hanging bandit signs.

If you're a hair stylist contact people you haven't seen in a while and offer them an incentive.

If you're a professional speaker, author and business coach (like me) call on groups that need speakers.

If 30 days from now you tell me you did this and your business failed to gain from it then I will promptly reply you're a liar. The truth is, most people are lazy and afraid, and those that succeed figured this out long ago.
